Diana Wright
Diana E. Wright was Associate Professor of History at Western Washington University, Bellingham, WA. A specialist on gender and religion in early modern Japan, she maintained an interest in military history, writing on the Joshigun or female combatants during the Meiji Restoration. More recently, she conducted research on the topic of insanity and the Edo legal system. A historian with a broad interests, a caring instructor, and wonderfully supportive friend, she passed away before the publication of this present work.
