Edwin Michielsen
Edwin Michielsen is an assistant professor in modern Japanese literature at the University of Hong Kong. His research examines theories and practices of international solidarity during the 1920s and 1930s across the Japanese empire found in various proletarian literary writings and cultural activities. Besides Itō Ken, he has published on proletarian writers such as Kaji Wataru, Matsuda Tokiko, Hirabayashi Taiko, and Hayashi Fusao.
