Akira Kohbara is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures, Stanford University, and holds a B.A. and an M.A. from International Christian University. His interests lie at the intersection between queerness and disability, particularly representations of male-male desire and non-normative body-minds in Japan and the English-speaking world.
