Naoko Wake
Naoko Wake is a historian of gender, sexuality, illness, and disability in the Pacific region, who focuses on Asian American history. She teaches at Michigan State University where anti-Asian expressions erupted after COVID-19 hit the state hard. Born in Japan and a dedicated community member of Asian Pacific Island Desi America (APIDA), she serves as the Director of Asian Pacific American Studies Program at MSU.
