Christian Tagsold is supernumerary Professor at the Department for Modern Japan, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. In his doctoral dissertation, he analyzed the Tokyo Olympics in 1964. The thesis was awarded a special price in the Academic Contest of German National Olympic Committee. Tagsold has also worked for the Local Organizing Committee of the FIFA World Cup 2006 and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2011 as a Team Liaison for the Japanese national teams.
