Ryota Nishino is a lecturer in history at The University of the South Pacific. He has worked on a comparative history of history textbooks (Changing Histories: Japanese and South African history textbooks in comparison (2011)), and travel writing (Studies in Travel Writing, Japanese Studies, Journal of Pacific History, and Pacific Historical Review). He is currently working on cross-media representations of trauma and masculinity of the Pacific War.
