Articles by Lila Ramos Shahani« Back to listLila Ramos Shahani is an Expert Member of two International Scientific Committees of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS). She has taught at several universities in the Philippines and, most recently, at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Lila worked as an Assistant Secretary in the Philippine Cabinet (in such agencies as the Cultural Center of the Philippines, National Anti-Poverty Commission, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and Department of Foreign Affairs) for over a decade. In her last government position, she served as Secretary-General of the Philippine National Commission to UNESCO, where she oversaw the inscription of four UNESCO designations for the Philippines: in Intangible Cultural Heritage, Memory of the World and Creative Cities. Lila has also worked as a policy/research adviser and editor for the United Nations in New York.
She has a B.A. from Brown, an M.A. from the Fletcher School at Tufts, and is a doctoral candidate at Oxford. |
