Agnese Dionisio is a Ph.D. candidate at Waseda University’s Graduate School of International Culture and Communication Studies (GSICCS) in Tokyo. Her dissertation analyzes the Japanese Empire through intersectionality theory in order to understand the complex mechanisms behind oppression and systematic abuse, with particular attention to military sexual slavery. She also focuses on historical revisionism, activist movements, and how different narratives of the past shape and influence the present. She can be contacted at:
