Sonja Ganseforth
Sonja Ganseforth is a principal researcher at the German Institute for Japanese Studies in Tokyo. Her dissertation analyzed Japanese development cooperation in the Middle East and was published in 2016 with Transcript. Her main research interests include the social geography of the globalization of agrifood systems, rural livelihoods, the political ecology of food, and social movements in Japan. She is currently conducting research on Japanese fisheries and sustainability discourses as well as protests surrounding the Tokyo Olympics.
